The Michigan Shores Cooperative is a 54 unit complex for active residents. It

The Michigan Shores Cooperative is located in northern Michigan's Benzie County in
Frankfort, Michigan, less than an hour from Traverse City, Grand Traverse shopping,
and the Cherry Capital Airport. Our three-story building is located on 19 wooded
acres overlooking Lake Michigan and its stunning sunsets. See our Photo

for your information and convenience. For your inspection, are the policies, services
and operation of the Michigan Shores Cooperative. This site contains specific information
about the duties and obligations as members in this cooperative. It is designed to
answer most of your questions about what it means to be a member of Michigan Shores
Cooperative. See our Common Questions page for answers
to the most commonly asked questions.
Copies of the By-Laws, Occupancy Agreement, and various other documents have been
included on our Documents page. A reading of these documents
will affirm what the cooperative expects of its members and what the member can expect
of the Cooperative.
The Board of Directors and management are available to answer any questions you might
have concerning the information found on this site.

Qualifications
To qualify, a Michigan Shores member will be 55 years or older, and meet minimum
income requirements. A member's share is paid to the cooperative upon relinquishing
their membership, the share money is returned with limited equity to the member or
their estate in accordance to the Corporate By-Laws.

Waiting List
Michigan Shores memberships would give exclusive rights to an apartment are offered
to individuals who have registered with the Cooperative to have their names placed
on the waiting list. If you are interested in becoming a resident of Michigan Shores,
please contact the Cooperative Services Director.
